Description

At an airport press conference, Rep. Peter Welch outlines efforts he will make upon returning to Washington to ensure Vermont receives the federal assistance it needs to recover from Tropical Storm Irene. Welch will preside over a bipartisan meeting he arranged of House Members from the 47 districts impacted by the storm. FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate and White House staff will also participate. The goal of the meeting is to review the recovery effort and steps the group can take to ensure states affected by the storm receive the federal assistance they need to recover.
