Host Mary Sullivan (D) speaks with Vermont Attorney David Mickenberg on a variety of legislative issues he is working on. David joined Mickenberg, Dunn, Lachs and Smith, as an associate in the fall of 2006. At the firm, David focuses on Civil Litigation, Worker's Compensation, and Public Affairs. Prior to joining the firm, David served as a Dorot Fellow in Washington, D.C. at the Alliance for Justice, working on research and advocacy related to Presidential appointees to the federal judiciary, including three Supreme Court nominations. Prior to law school, David spent six years at two programs started by George Soros' Open Society Institute, the Drug Policy Alliance and The After School Corporation, working on policy, communications and government relations.

Common Good Vermont: The Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce and Vermont Nonprofits React to Two Proposed Tax Bills 04/14/2015

The Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce, Common Good Vermont, and the United Way of Chittenden County hold a press conference to discuss current tax proposals under consideration in the Vermont Legislature. If passed, these proposals (H.489 and draft bill in Senate Finance Committee) will have an impact on state tax deductions for charitable giving, real estate mortgages, and taxes and health care costs. Vermont Legislature Recognizes Armenian Genocide 03/31/2015

On the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, the Vermont House and Senate passed a resolution recognizing the event. Armenians gathered on March 31st 2015 to celebrate the significant resolution with music during the House "Devotional" by Locum, and an afternoon presentation by Vermont authors Chris Bohjalian and Dana Walrath. 1.5 million Armenians were killed in the genocide, which began in April 2015. Some countries, including Turkey, have not recognized the Armenian Genocide happened.
