A live forum on Channel 17 Town Meeting TV, Thursday, January 29th, 6:30 to 8 PM will be presented by the Champlain Valley League of Women Voters.  Panelists will include David Mears, Commissioner Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation; Chittenden County Senators Tim Ashe and Diane Snelling, and Lori Fisher, Executive Director, Lake Champlain Committee.  

You are invited to join the live audience at the Channel 17 studio.  If you cannot joins us in the studio, you can watch on Channel 17 or watch on-line at www.cctv.org/live_events .  Phone in questions to the panel at 802-862-3966.  Channel 17 is at 294 North Winooski Avenue, Burlington, VT, and the studio is on the second floor.

Action Alert: Burlington City Council to Finalize BT Sale on 11/17

The City Council is scheduled to finalize the “sale-leaseback” of Burlington Telecom to Bluewater Holdings. This agreement was approved by the Vermont Public Service Board in late October. The sale of BT to Bluewater Holdings enables Burlington to generate $6 million of the $10 million settlement agreement reached with Citibank to resolve the City's $33 million loan default of 2009.

Town Meeting TV is excited to announce that applications are now open for the Spring 2025 cohort of the Neighborhood Community Media Internship program. Join up to 8 other youth to engage in interesting media making projects! This paid media internship opportunity is designed for youth aged 16-20 who are eager to gain professional experience in the audio-visual field and develop a deeper understanding of their local community. The group will meet under the leadership of Town Meeting TV's Travis Washington from the end of January 2025 to the beginning of June 2025, on a schedule agreed upon by the whole cohort.
