Williston Selectboard 09/12/2011

The Selectboard is a five member elected board. There are three positions elected for a three year term and two positions elected for a two year term on a staggered basis. The board is responsible for setting the general policy direction, passing ordinances, setting the tax rate, reviewing the budget, supervising the Town Manager and a host of other related tasks. Essex Selectboard 09/12/2011

The Selectboard meetings are all held at the Town Offices at 81 Main Street in Essex Junction, in the downstairs conference room on the first and third Mondays of the month. The public is always welcome, and the meetings start promptly at 7:30 PM. If special accommodations are needed please call 802-878-1341.

Burlington Wards 2 & 3 NPA Meeting 09/08/2011

Neighborhood Planning Assemblies (NPAs) are grassroots, neighborhood organizations that were established in each of Burlington's seven Wards to encourage citizen participation in City government. Working as neighborhood advocacy groups, Neighborhood Planning Assemblies help improve communication between the citizens of Burlington and City government through regular meetings scheduled in each Ward. Wards 2 & 3 meet the second Thursday of the month. Meeting place: McClure Multi-Generational Center 241 North Winooski Avenue, Next to QTees.

Congressman Peter Welch: Efforts to Ensure Irene Recovery Assistance to Vermont 09/07/2011

At an airport press conference, Rep. Peter Welch outlines efforts he will make upon returning to Washington to ensure Vermont receives the federal assistance it needs to recover from Tropical Storm Irene. Welch will preside over a bipartisan meeting he arranged of House Members from the 47 districts impacted by the storm. FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate and White House staff will also participate. The goal of the meeting is to review the recovery effort and steps the group can take to ensure states affected by the storm receive the federal assistance they need to recover.
