Under the Dome: Health Care Reform Listening Sessions on Benefit Design 05/02/2012

The Agency of Administration hosts this listening session to help inform the
design of future health care reform financing plans. These session (1 of 4) includes presentations on the
challenges facing Vermont’s health care system, how health care is financed currently in Vermont, and an
overview of Vermont’s revenue system. These informational presentations along with personal experiences will enable input on the potential impact of various financing sources on Vermont businesses and on the state’s economy and economic climate.

Vermont Workers' Center: Workers' Memorial Day at Battery Park in Burlington 04/30/2012

The City of Burlington in partnership with the Vermont Workers' Center and the Barre Granite Cutters Association created a new Workers' Memorial at Battery Park in Burlington to commemorate working people who have died, been injured or become disabled on the job. Vermont Workers' Center and local labor unions mark the memorial and day, with stories of family members and individuals who have been impacted by death, injury or illness on the job.

Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin joins Suzanne and Mike for a chat about his administration's efforts to improve job opertunities and raise wages for Vermonters, including the creation of new Green, High-Tech industries. Governor Shumlin also touches upon the need for broadband Internet access throughout the state and giving Vermonters more opertunities for higher education, both he sees ad necessary for Vermont's economic growth.

Burlington High School Students Meet to Discuss Racism 04/19/2012

A group of Burlington High School students spent the day protesting racism at the school and in their community by holding signs and speaking out in front of the school. After school they met with Burlington Free Press reporter Molly Walsh and Editor Mike Townsend to discuss recent articles published about them and conversation in the community about achievement, test-scores and racism. CCTV Center for Media & Democracy is pleased to announce receipt of a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Humanities Collections and Reference Resources grant alongside 32 peer archival institutions across the country.
