From Dr. Wetchi:

Host Dr. Wetchi is joined by Christopher Ndabarushimana of Culture Youth Club and musician Christian Bella to talk about the concert which will take place on Saturday the 26th. October 7pm to 10 pm with the musician who came from Africa in Tanzania. He is also joined musician and artist Butalakwazebi Jack Bauer.  Dr. Wetchi also d iscusses the link between happiness and health.

What is the link between happiness and health? Of course, being in a good mood is already pleasant in itself, and it makes life easier. But it also has a beneficial impact on our health, even if this effect is slow to be recognized! Indeed, happiness and a positive mood allow for better cardiovascular health, better brain health, better digestion, a top immune system, greater tone and finally a longer life expectancy. There are only benefits to being happy! Live a fulfilling life to be happy It is often easier said than done when you are caught up in your daily routine, but it is important to have a fulfilling life. However, a few beneficial habits can help you get closer to it, including get enough sleep, have a balanced diet, play sports, take time for yourself, think about relaxing.

Quel est le lien entre bonheur et santé ? Bien sûr, être de bonne humeur est déjà agréable en soi, et cela facilite la vie. Mais cela a aussi un impact bénéfique sur notre santé, même si cet effet tarde à être reconnu ! En effet, le bonheur et une humeur positive permettent une meilleure santé cardiovasculaire, une meilleure santé cérébrale, une meilleure digestion, un système immunitaire au top, un plus grand tonus et finalement une espérance de vie plus longue. Il n’y a que des avantages à être heureux ! Vivre une vie épanouie pour être heureux C’est souvent plus facile à dire qu’à faire quand on est pris dans sa routine quotidienne, mais il est important d’avoir une vie épanouie. Cependant, quelques habitudes bénéfiques peuvent vous aider à vous en rapprocher, notamment : dormir suffisamment avoir une alimentation équilibrée faire du sport prendre du temps pour soi penser à se détendre.

Mayor Kristine Lott meets with Sarah Brunkhorst, Market Manager of the Winooski Farmers Market and Event Coordinator at Downtown Winooskiand, along with other members of the community at the Onion Festival. They talk about the farmer's market, and the concept of the onion festival.

Visit the community mandala weaving project happening on site, speak with some of the folks tabling at the event (such as Historic Society, Mill Museum, Friends of the Winooski River, local business vendors), visit the community cookbook sale, onion ring toss, and printing art activity. The program closes out by sharing upcoming Winooski events.

Five words that describe Michael Johnson: Empathetic, Fun, Passionate, Supportive, Caring, Honest.

Michael Johnson, Chief Executive Officer of Turning Point Recovery Center of Springfield VT. A person in long-term recovery, Michael has been the director of Turning Point since 2013. Board President of Recovery Partners of Vermont, the umbrella organization of recovery centers throughout Vermont.

After 19 years in mental health services, 4 years as a para educator in our local high school I came to lead TPRC. Active in my faith community. Active member of Project Action, community based collaborative designed to meet the needs created by substance use. My role as a peer in recovery fuels my passion for meeting the needs of the greater Springfield community.

Passions in life are my family, music, semi-retired drummer, fishing and rescue pets.

Jym Wilson is a Photographer, Journalist, Photo Editor, Consultant, and Instructor. His career and commitment to journalism is built around photography. He honed his skills as a staff photographer at the largest daily newspaper in Vermont and then worked as the sole staff photographer at Gannett News Service covering a wide assortment of assignments in Washington DC and around the world. He moved to USA TODAY and developed a reputation as a “photographer’s photo editor”. Jym now lives in Springfield Missouri where he is a photojournalist for the Springfield Daily Citizen which opened in 2022.
