Description

Dr. Diane E. Meier is Director of the Center to Advance Palliative Care (CAPC), a national organization devoted to increasing the number and quality of palliative care programs in the United States. Her leadership of CAPC has led to the doubling of U.S. hospital palliative care programs in the last five years. She is also Director of the Lilian and Benjamin Hertzberg Palliative Care Institute; Professor of Geriatrics and Internal Medicine in the Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine; and Catherine Gaisman Professor of Medical Ethics in the Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.

This program was brought to you by Madison-Deane Initiative (MDI), the education arm of the VNA End-of-Life Care services of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties.

MDI was created in 1997 to educate the general public and medical professionals about quality care at the end of life. Its mission is to transform end-of-life care through education, collaboration and inspiration. To accomplish this work, MDI depends upon the generosity of sponsors, supporters, partners and MDI friends.
