The Burlington's Community & Economic Development Office (CEDO) Open House and Community Celebration features awards and recognizes the important work done to keep our communities safe, vibrant, and green.

In recognition of National Community Development Week, this program highlights the work done by CEDO and valued community partners with the Community Development Block Grant and HOME funds for our most vulnerable residents.

The KEN SCHATZ AWARD was created in 2013 to honor those who have demonstrated an exemplary commitment to restorative justice, community-based responses to crime and conflict, and helping people stay out of (or preventing their return to) the criminal justice system.

The PETER CLAVELLE AWARD honors a professional whose leadership has advanced social equity, environmental stewardship, quality education, economic growth and vitality in Burlington.

The HERB BLOOMENTHAL AWARD FOR COMMUNITY ACTIVISM honors a volunteer whose leadership, tenacity and dedication have somehow improved Burlington’s neighborhoods.
