Description

Branch Out Burlington presents author, educator and environmentalist Bill McKibben as this year’s winter seminar speaker. His topic will be "Local and Global: Building a Movement to Fight for a Livable Planet."  McKibben writes and speaks frequently on global warming and alternative energy, and advocates for more localized economies in the effort to reverse climate change.  Bill is a scholar in residence at Middlebury College and also a co-founder of 350.org, an international movement dedicated to solving the climate crisis. For more information about Bill McKibben, go to www.billmckibben.com. Branch Out Burlington’s winter seminar is co-sponsored this year by Main Street Landing, the Vermont Urban and Community Forestry Program, UVM’s Institute for Global Sustainability and Burlington Department of Parks and Recreation. Branch Out Burlington!
