Description

The experienced panel provides the building blocks for understanding of a captive’s taxation life cycle from formation to maturity, discussing the potential tax pitfalls along the way. Topics will include: how to qualify as an insurance company for tax; the implications of qualifying; special considerations in calculating tax expense; and tax elections to consider. The panel summarizes what other taxes the captive or its insured may be exposed to including premium taxes, excise taxes and state income taxes. And no session on taxation today would be complete without an update and overview of the Non-admitted and Reinsurance Reform Act (NRRA).
