U.S. Senator Peter Welch, Vermont Governor Phil Scott, Vermont Secretary of Agriculture Anson Tebbetts, and Vermont state and local agriculture stakeholders visit Paul Mazza Fruit & Vegetable in Essex Junction, Vermont to survey damage to the farm and call for coordinated support for Vermont farms at all levels of government. Flooding Impact at New Farms for New Americans 07/24/2023

Town Meeting TV's Jordan Mitchell chats with Alisha Laramee, Program Coordinator for New Farms for New Americans, and other farm workers, about their recent experiences at the farm and how they have been impacted by flooding in the Intervale.

New Farms for New Americans is a program of AALV that connects refugee and immigrant families with land and resources to grow food. The program helps families to continue agrarian traditions, address food insecurity, and grow culturally significant crops.

Local Flood Response and Recovery: Sharing Needs, Resources, and Plans for the Future 07/20/2023

As we come together in response to the devastating floods Vermont has experienced, it's important to connect with each other to understand and address the emerging needs in our communities and on our farms and landscape. It's also important to understand resources as they become available and connect to state, regional, and federal partners to move forward together. This session brings together community members and response and recovery leaders to share the needs and challenges that are emerging, early resources that may be helpful, and examples of what is working in their communities as they respond and recover. Panelists share their experiences and best practice suggestions and then we turn to participants to engage in a statewide discussion to identify current needs and pathways forward.

Town Meeting TV is excited to announce that applications are now open for the Spring 2025 cohort of the Neighborhood Community Media Internship program. Join up to 8 other youth to engage in interesting media making projects! This paid media internship opportunity is designed for youth aged 16-20 who are eager to gain professional experience in the audio-visual field and develop a deeper understanding of their local community. The group will meet under the leadership of Town Meeting TV's Travis Washington from the end of January 2025 to the beginning of June 2025, on a schedule agreed upon by the whole cohort.
