Celebrate International Workers' Day at Battery Park in Burlington alongside local unions and labor activists, with live music, speeches, and food from People's Kitchen!

May Day is a fun, family-friendly festival of worker power. Cosponsors include the Vermont AFL-CIO, Teamsters Local 597, the Howard Center Union, the Burlington Education Association, UVM Graduate Students United, UVM Staff United, AFSCME Local 4802, UE Local 208, and the Vermont IWW.

Join us at the park this May Day for a celebration of worker power. Working Vermonters are coming together for a rally in Burlington on Monday, May 1st, to commemorate International Workers’ Day. This rally will be fun, free, and lighthearted, with food and live music. We’ll be meeting up at 6pm at Battery Park. This is a great opportunity to hangout with other union workers and supporters in Vermont, eat good food, and have a great time! We’re over the moon that Burlington will be hosting this event, and I hope to see you there, and I hope you will vote to endorse this event.

Migrant Justice - Milk with Dignity March and Rally 05/01/2022

This May Day, International Workers Day, Migrant Justice is calling for a day of action at Hannaford Supermarkets across the northeast! Farmworkers and consumers will join together send a clear message to Hannaford: We want Milk with Dignity!
They meet in the Staples parking lot, march together to a nearby Hannaford for a picket and rally, then eat and celebrate together.

Community Groups, Unions Hold May Day Car Caravan Rallies On International Workers Day, solidarity with essential workers and calls for a “People’s Bailout” What: May 1st is celebrated around the world as International Workers Day. Vermonters are commemorating the holiday with car caravan rallies around the state. Community organizations and labor unions are organizing caravans to different symbolic sites to show solidarity with essential workers and lift up calls for crisis responses that focus on workers’ health and welfare. Enrique Balcazar, organizador comunitario de Justicia Migrante, presentará videos de la Marcha para la Dignidad, una manifestación que se ocurrió el Primero de Mayo en Burlington. Los videos muestran trabajadores de ranchos lecheros demandando que Ben & Jerry's cumpla con su promesa de implementar el programa Leche con Dignidad en su cadena de abastecimiento y denunciando los ataques del Presidente Trump.

Enrique Balcazar, community organizer at Migrant Justice, will show videos from Mayday's March for Dignity, which took place in Burlington, VT. Videos show dairy workers demanding that Ben & Jerry's follow through on their commitment to join the Milk with Dignity program, followed by a protest at the U.S. Federal Building denouncing President Trump's attacks on immigrant workers.

Migrant Justice organizes the May Day March for Dignity. Vermonters make way to Ben & Jerry's on Church St in Burlington, VT to demand implementation of the Milk With Dignity Program and then proceed to a community speakout on immigration, racism and current politics at the federal building on Elmwood Ave.

Town Meeting TV is excited to announce that applications are now open for the Spring 2025 cohort of the Neighborhood Community Media Internship program. Join up to 8 other youth to engage in interesting media making projects! This paid media internship opportunity is designed for youth aged 16-20 who are eager to gain professional experience in the audio-visual field and develop a deeper understanding of their local community. The group will meet under the leadership of Town Meeting TV's Travis Washington from the end of January 2025 to the beginning of June 2025, on a schedule agreed upon by the whole cohort.
