Bread and Puppet Theatre: THE HOPE PRINCIPLE SHOW - CITIZENS' SHAME + HOPE IN THE TIME OF GENOCIDE 03/30/2024

"With mother dirt prologue, citizen despair gymnastics, massmurder victims' traditional dance of death celebration, absent humanity dance. Featuring a flock of disaster ravens and hope principle caribou and exorcism rites for the genociders."
This video documents the second performance of The Hope Principle Show which the next day began a 20 stop tour of New England.
The program quotes from Tariq M. Haddad's letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, November 2023:
Secretary Blinken, there is very little at this point that you can do to reverse the damage and destruction you have caused the Palestinian people, but there are at least some things you can do to prevent further destruction and suffering:
1. Call for an immediate ceasefire.
2. End the continued transfer of U.S. military reserve equipment to the Israeli military to stop further murder.
3. Call for an immediate withdrawal from Gaza and equality for the Palestinian people.
4. Call for an end to the Israeli occupation and for equal rights, freedoms, and laws in this land regardless of one's religion, ethnicity, or background.

Farmers Night performance in the Vermont State Capitol - a massively historic event, replete with the irony of its staging in front of a huge portrait of George Washington that faces into the well of the House.
Special Thanks to the Statehouse Farmers Night team for making this possible!

Bread and Puppet Theatre: Kropotkin Series Bedsheets & Kropotkin Biographical Performance 10/13/2023

Features Peter Schumann Kropotkin Bedsheet series (executed Spring? Summer2023) which were laid out on the studio floor of Jules and Helen Rabin cut to fit specific places on the library's walls, so as to create a travelling exhibit devoted to quotations of Kropotkin set into expressionist representational images.

First Annual Plex Arts Festival 05/20/2023

Plex Arts Festival is a new, grassroots, immersive arts event in Burlington's Old North End that took place on the evening of May 20th. The festival focuses on experimental and contemporary work. All art forms welcome - dance, music, sculpture, tattoo art, food, comedy, pottery, theater, poetry, painting, crafts, video art, and other cross-disciplinary creative projects.

Tamar Schumann introduces dedicated activists Martha Hennessy and Christopher Helali, who exemplify walking the walk with absolute courage in the face of the capitalist world's unspeakably self-destructive cruelties, lies, evasions, hopeless elisions. They pointedly remind us of events that have nearly been lost to memory amid the chaos of news cycles, polarizing media and social media distortion, obfuscation, and suppression. Hennessy and Helali inspire in their listeners a sense of urgency that propels direct action in the name of the Commonwealth.
