The traveling board meeting will feature several Vermont health leaders discussing topics of interest in the Burlingtonarea:
The role of Vermont’s academic health center, with John Brumsted, M.D., president and CEO, Fletcher Allen Health Care; Frederick Morin, M.D., dean, University of Vermont (UVM) College of Medicine; and Patricia Prelock, Ph.D., dean, UVM College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
Community health centers, with Jack Donnelly, CEO, Community Health Centers of Burlington.
Community mental health and substance abuse services, with Todd Centybear, executive director, HowardCenter.
Home care and end-of-life care, with Judy Peterson, RN, president and CEO, Visiting Nurse Association of Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties.
The GMCB is an independent state agency charged with regulating Vermont’s health system; evaluating the health and financial impacts of health reform; and promoting innovations to make health care affordable and to improve Vermonters’ health.
“Vermont’s Legislature created the GMCB with transparency and public involvement in mind,” said Al Gobeille, chair of the GMCB. “We have designed these two events to encourage public participation, and we hope people in the Burlington area take the time to get involved.”
