RisingTideVermont & 350VT.org join major anti fracked gas pipeline activist Elders who speak eloquently to the naked corporate aggression of Vermont Gas Systems in their attempted collusion with the Vermont Department of Public Service throughout the quasi-judicial process carried on for 3 years by the Vermont Public Service Board. A secret backroom deal with VT's Gov Shumlin and VGS is about to allow VGS - a private corporation -- to levy Eminent Domain against landowners in Chittendon County who oppose the construction of the pipeline through their lands. The "backroom deal" / MOU referred to in this film is the $20,000,000 VGS "price reduction" -- signed by Chris Recchia, head of the Dept. of Public Service and Gov. Shumlin a week or so prior to this Action -- contingent, of course, on actual future construction cost-overruns! Non-violent Civil Disobedience blockade on the 3rd day of Occupation leads to Arrests of 3 activists. Agitprop theater by RisingTide/350VT shows that an intense process of personal soul searching fueled by climate science is necessary to transform worldwide corporate fossil fuel exploitation and resultant global warming extinction scenario into the movement that will save life on our planet for future generations.
