VAN is Hiring a Vermont Community Television Channel Manager
Ten Hours a week (on average) – Reports to VAN Statewide Channel Committee
DESCRIPTION:
Vermont Community Television (VCTV) is a statewide distribution channel showcasing Vermont-produced community media. A project of the Vermont Access Network (VAN), VCTV amplifies the work of Vermont’s community media centers and producers. VCTV fosters community engagement through a wide range of content including live and recorded state government coverage, documentaries, performances, community events and more. The VCTV Channel Manager oversees VCTV programming across all platforms and works closely with VAN on brand and content strategy.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- License content from the Vermont Media Exchange (VMX) and other local sources
- Curate VCTV weekly and quarterly schedules Manage programming operations within broadcast software, including live and recorded content
- Ensure alignment with VCTV programming guidelines Manage VCTV communication channels over VAN Slack collaborative workspace
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with VAN to establish online distribution presence
- Work with VAN to regularly produce and update channel branding assets
- Support community outreach and communication efforts as directed
Work with VAN to develop underwriting guidelines and packages
