Viewers can call in and ask questions of candidates for Mayor, City Council, Selectboard and School Board in Burlington, South Burlington, Essex, Williston and Winooski. Deadline Nears for “25th Anniversary Free Speech Silent Auction”

As part of its 25th Anniversary celebration, CCTV invites local artists to create a piece of work for a Silent Auction on April 30th that reflects the theme of “free speech” and “democratic communications”Says CCTV Founder Lauren-Glenn Davitian, “We hope our artist friends will let their creativity flow and use this as an opportunity to raise public awareness and understanding about the promise and the perils of free speech at this time and as we look ahead to the next 25 years.”The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, March 31, 2009.

The Vermont Community Foundation awarded a two-year, $50,000 grant to CCTV Center for Media & Democracy for CommonGoodVT.org, a two-year pilot network that aims to support Vermont’s nonprofit organizations to “do more with less” and generate social benefit for the people of the state.
