These events are either hosted by legislators to connect with their constituents, or they are forums held for candidates to meet with voters.

CCTV Board Welcomes Eric Covey as Newest Member

The board of CCTV, home to Town Meeting TV, CCTV Productions, and The Vermont Language Justice Project welcomes newest board member, Eric Covey. Eric currently serves as Chief of Staff for Vermont’s Secretary of State Jim Condos, where he works to increase government transparency and accountability, and reduce barriers to voting for all Vermonters.

A Tribute for Nat Ayer: CCTV Founder + Trailblazer 1949-2022

The first time I saw Nat Ayer, he was in the balcony of Burlington City Hall videotaping Noam Chomsky. It was 1984. Dan Higgins and I were also there to record the noted linguist and political activist—one of the first public events we covered in the early days of CCTV. How surprised were we! “Who’s that? What’s he doing? How amazing there’s another person with a camera, who thinks Chomsky is interesting to record?”

Vermont Secretary of State Jim Condos and Deputy Secretary of State Chris Winters to Host Virtual Government Transparency Training

Most officials I know are well intentioned public servants who want to follow the law and best serve their communities – my hope with this training is to give them the tools, information and resources to best do so.”
