Burlington City Council Part 2 12/19/2011

: South Burlington City Council Part 1 12/19/2011

The South Burlington City Council is made up of 5 citizens who live in the City of South Burlington, elected at-large by the voters of the City. These five councilors sit with 2-3 year terms expiring in an annual rotation. The City Council meets regularly on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of each month to conduct business of the City and carry out the provisions of the City Charter. Special or emergency meetings can be called in the event that an urgent need arises for City Council authorization. City Council meetings are held at City Hall in the conference room and begin at 7pm.

Essex Selectboard 12/19/2011

The Selectboard meetings are all held at the Town Offices at 81 Main Street in Essex Junction, in the downstairs conference room on the first and third Mondays of the month. The public is always welcome, and the meetings start promptly at 7:30 PM. If special accommodations are needed please call 802-878-1341.

Winooski City Council 12/19/2011

The Winooski City Council normally meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month. Meeting schedules, agendas and minutes can be found on the City's web site, www.onioncity.com.

Williston Selectboard 12/19/2011

The Selectboard is a five member elected board. There are three positions elected for a three year term and two positions elected for a two year term on a staggered basis. The board is responsible for setting the general policy direction, passing ordinances, setting the tax rate, reviewing the budget, supervising the Town Manager and a host of other related tasks. Coordinator of HOPE Congo, Paul Gatanga speaks to the history and needs of the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo, and how the organization, Hope Congo, offers brighter possibilities for the future. This program is designed to raise awareness, connect the diaspora community and has been used as a political organizing tool for activists working in Congo who have limited means of self-expression.

The House Committee on Government Operations of the Vermont General Assembly is conducting a series of public hearings on the decennial legislative apportionment process. This hearing considers the Chittenden County municipalities of Burlington, Colchester, South Burlington, and Winooski.

CCTV Center for Media & Democracy is pleased to announce receipt of a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Humanities Collections and Reference Resources grant alongside 32 peer archival institutions across the country.
