Description
Nuclear Free Future Conversation series host Margaret Harrington talks with Arnie Gundersen, Chief Engineer of Fairewinds Energy Education, and Ben Shulman-Reed, Fairewinds Program Researcher, about the season of nuclear power plant meltdowns in March and April. They talk about recent developments in Fukushima Daichi covering the radiation impact of the six year old man-made disaster and the reopening of nuclear power plants in Japan. They talk about the discrepancy between government data and scientific research regarding Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, and Fukushima and how global corporations and weapons manufacturers manipulate the data in order to further their profits from the nuclear power industry.

Join 8 other youth to engage in interesting media making projects! This paid media internship opportunity is designed for youth aged 16-20 who are eager to gain professional experience in the audio-visual field and develop a deeper understanding of their local community. 5 of these spots are specifically for students who are part of the Burlington My Brother's Keeper/My Sister's Keeper programs. The group will meet under the leadership of Town Meeting TV's Travis Washington from the beginning of April 2024 to the end of August 2024, on a schedule agreed upon by the whole cohort.
