June 24, 2022, the US Supreme Court overturned the landmark decision of Roe v. Wade. In 1973 the Court decided that the 14th Amendment declaring all persons born in the United States are citizens of the United States these born women and girls are therefore entitled to the equal protection of the law and the Constitution. Roe insured that women and girls were guaranteed the same rights as men to make medical decisions in privacy with their doctors and families or in the privacy of their own conscience without the interference of the State, the politicians, family, or church. The Roe decision stated that as moral agents women were to be trusted to make important decisions about their pregnancies, their families, their futures and their destinies on their own.

"Roe v. Wade decided by the United States Supreme Court in 1973 was a victory based on the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution, Roe guaranteed that "persons born in the United States are citizens of the United States and that no State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Under this historic amendment passed during Reconstruction after the Civil War in 1868, which guaranteed to freed formerly enslaved persons citizenship, women being born are persons and therefore citizens of the United States and the State in which they reside and are therefore entitled to have their rights to life and liberty respected and guaranteed by the State. Roe v. Wade stated that women and girls were moral agents and citizens who had the right to make their own medical decisions free of government interference.

Justine Snow, Esq., is an attorney and Public Defender in Florida. She is a graduate of Burlington College in Vermont and a graduate of Southern Coastal Law School in Florida. She is a scholar who studies the Constitution and practices law to make constitutional liberties a reality."

VICII: Jacobson v. Massachusetts 1905, (197 US 11) - Mandated Vaccines Then and Now 01/12/2022

Our leader Nathan Virag, a graduate of the Univ. of Illinois Chicago Law School, immigrant rights specialist and a legal scholar will help us understand the debate between individual liberty and the collective good.
 
During a small pox outbreak in the early 20th century in the United States a Cambridge pastor, Henning Jacobsen sued the State of Massachusetts when that State mandated vaccines for all to protect public safety and health. Mr. Jacobson, an immigrant from Sweden asserted that he had experienced serious health consequences from past experience with vaccines. He argued further that the Constitution of the United States under the 14th Amendment which guarantees the equal protection of the law guaranteed his human right and liberty to decide what medical treatments were in his best interest and that the State should not have the police power to force injections on unwilling Americans.
 
In 1905 the Supreme Court of the United States held in Jacobson v. Massachusetts that State laws mandating vaccines were within the police powers of the State in order to further the public good. (Jacobson v. Massachusetts, 197 US 11(1905). Setting the precedent of the constitutionality of mandated vaccines the Jacobsen case is widely discussed today as Covid 19 surges through the United States and the world, and the President of the United States, as well as many Doctors, Scientists and concerned persons demand that governments use police power to mandate vaccines for all people to prevent the spread of a nasty sickness which threatens the public health and safety of the community.
