Emergency Rally: Let The Ballot Question Through! 12/16/2024

Burlingtonians gather in response to a possible ballot measure calling for an end to “Israel’s apartheid regime, settler colonialism and military occupation” that could be on Burlington’s Tballot in 2025. The ballot measure is identical to one that was proposed in January when councilors voted to not place it on the 2024 ballot.

The Vermont Coalition for Palestinian Liberation is excited to host the first ever Vermont Palestine Conference: The Struggle for Land and Liberation. It is for our state-wide educational and activist conference about the struggle to free Palestine.

Who is it for: Any and all who are interested in learning more about Palestinian liberation and intersecting struggles/causes, as well as what the struggle for liberation looks like in Vermont. This is a space for seasoned organizers and those new to the cause, for strategizing, learning from each other, and deepening our collective work.

Emergency Protest in Burlington Against US/Israeli War on Palestine, Lebanon, and Iran 10/02/2024

From the Vermont Coalition for Palestinian Liberation:

Israel is expanding its genocidal war in Gaza to the West Bank and now into Lebanon. The US, despite its calls for ceasefire, has provided Israel funding, arms, and military support every step of the way. They are partners in this expanding war and its atrocities.

Now, with US backing, Israel is threatening war with Iran. We demand that Israel stop its genocidal war in Palestine and throughout the region. Hands off Lebanon! No War on Iran! We demand that the US impose an immediate embargo on all US aid and arms to Israel! Money for jobs and education, not for war and occupation!

All out to this emergency rally in Burlington! If you cannot come to this action, join one of the vigils listed below and turn out to the protests on October 5th also listed below. UVM Solidarity with the West Bank of Palestine Demonstration 08/28/2024

Explosions are being reported across the West Bank as the IOF continues to escalate in its genocidal death spiral. The Jenin hospital is surrounded by tanks, occupation forces have begun destroying roads and civil infrastructure, and the risk of forced displacement is imminent.

All of this occurs while the UVM Board of Trustees continues to profit off of the Zionist entity’s war crimes and genocide through their endowment investments in weapons manufacturers and surveillance companies that equip the IOF. We are mobilizing today at 2 PM in the Davis Green to continue our demand that UVM divest from any and all holdings that enable this ongoing 76-year nightmare.

Will The Lesser Evil Stop The Greater Evil?: The 2024 Elections and Social Movements 08/27/2024

Vermont Healthcare Workers Rally for Palestine 06/02/2024

From the organizers:

As of April 2nd, Israel has conducted 435 attacks in Gaza, targeting hospitals and health care workers. Only 28 hosptials and 30 primary care facilities remain even marginally functional, while an estimated 8,000 patients need medical evacuation (Abboud 2024). UNICEF estimates 1,000 children in Gaza have become amputees since October, the biggest cohort of pediatric amputees in history (Griswald 2024). And as Israel continues to block UN aid, including food and medical supplies, The World Peace Foundation says "We are about to witness in Gaza the most intense famine since the second World War" (Abboud 2024). The current miltary incursion into Rafah will only worsen the medical apartheid (WHO 2024).

Nurses, doctors, physical therapists, mental health conselors, medical students, and other health care workers come together to declare our solidarity with the people of Palestine. As people dedicated to the health and well-being of humanity, we abhor the genocide our government funds and enables in Gaza.
