Northeast Council on State Government: Public Access in Peril 08/17/2021

Many Public, Educational, and Governmental (PEG) centers across the Northeast are experiencing significant budget shortfalls with no relief in sight. Their services are critical for airing local government proceedings, town hall meetings, etc., yet cable companies are eschewing any efforts to pay for continuing free-to-air access for this kind of programming.

A panel of industry experts and state officials discuss how states in the Eastern Region are working to ensure the continuity of public access to state and local news.

Paul Costello, Executive Director of Vermont Council on Rural Development (VCRD), discusses the work of bringing attention to the fundamental needs that communities face and the next phase of the ongoing work of the council on the future of Vermont. With an eye on the future, VCRD brings Vermonters together to identify points of action over the next few years on climate change, racism, and rural development that will have implications for the next generation.

LCWS - Class of 2014: Lake Champlain Waldorf School Class of 2018 Senior Presentations 04/18/2018

The Lake Champlain Waldorf School's senior class of 2018 presents five-minute presentations of their year-long senior projects. Topics range from arts, humanities, social science, education, business, and space travel. This presentation includes: "What is Time?"; "What is a City?"; and "What is the Waldorf Kindergarten Pedagogy?" Projects include discussions of community responses to mental illness, the opioid crisis, and eating disorders. Seniors also present their hands-on projects such as reducing plastic bottle usage and turning art into a business.

South Burlington Comprehensive Plan Public Hearing 10/20/2015

The Planning Commission hosts this formal public hearing after holding 3 public input sessins on the 2016 Comprehensive Plan Draft. The hearing will starts with a brief overview of the Plan and is then opened to the community for feedback!

The Planning Commission typically meets on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month in the City Hall Conference Room, 575 Dorset Street, South Burlington. Meetings begin at 7:00 pm.
