Help clean up the Barge Canal on Green Up Day! Come for a couple of hours, or the day. Rain or shine, dress apporpriately. This is a beautoful and challening place. Wear sturdy boots, long pants, and good work gloves.

Let Graham take you on a journey far back in time and deep underground as we explore the unique geology and hydrogeology of the area we now call the Pine Street Barge Canal in Burlington. Dr. Bradley’s dynamic presentation first takes viewers through the formation of the geological underpinnings of this part of the The Burlington Waterfront. He helps the audience understand the interaction of rock, sediment, and water, and how industrial development influenced both the subsurface and the landscape we see today.

Second Annual Green Up the Pine Street Barge Canal 05/06/2023

You are invited to a Barge Canal Green Up Day Festival!

2nd annual Green Up the Barge Canal on Saturday, May 6, 9 AM to 3 PM. Last year, 140 people showed up and we removed a mountain of trash that had been blanketing the land for decades. This year, in addition to working together to care for the land by clearing trash, we have activities to honor our ongoing partnership with the land.
