Status Update: Communications Security Planning
In order to build a compelling and definitive case for continued PEG support in Vermont’s largest communities and set a standard for future cable contracts, CCTV convened a series of community meetings in Spring 2009. Three meetings are part of a formal, broad-based and representative planning process to matches “community needs” with PEG funding and public access to the local cable/broadband network. With a completed Community Communications Security Plan (to be published in December 2009), CCTV will be able to define more specific terms of its upcoming cable contract and expand support for locally controlled broadband networks in the region and the state.
