Channel 17/Town Meeting TV Announces Two New Programs for the Live@5:25 Weekday Live Show Series

On May 12 at 5:25, Rob Roper and Angela Chagnon will premier "True North Reports" to be run on the 2nd Tuesday of each month as part of the Live@5:25 call-in series. Roper and Chagnon are part of http://truenorthreports.com/category/tnr-news, "an online communications service dedicated to fostering public debate over Vermont based issues from a free market perspective. We do this through traditional investigative reporting and analysis, our own issues oriented public awareness campaigns, and by helping to coordinate the campaigns of like-minded individuals and organizations."

On June 16 at 5:25, Alzheimer's Association of Vermont will begin a regular Live@5:25 show for the 3rd Thursday of every other month. "The anguish of Alzheimers is not just experienced by individuals with the disease; their friends, families and communities suffer right along with them. Today there are 11 million friends and families – 29,000 people right here in Vermont - who are looking after a loved one with Alzheimer’s and grappling with the enormous challenges this disease places on their well-being, health and jobs,” said Martha Richardson, Executive
Director of the Vermont Chapter.  "Through this live show, the Alzheimer’s Association will connect with viewers to help them understand Alzheimer’s disease and related forms of dementia, address their questions, share research developments and identify resources and needs in our communities.  Alzheimer’s disease will be the health care epidemic of the boomer generation and it is time to start talking about it." More information on the Alzheimer's Association can be found at http://www.alz.org/vermont/

For 20 Years, Channel 17/Town Meeting TV has hosted a regular week-day public affairs and citizen affairs call-in show.  This Live call-in is an opportunity for viewers to connect with public officials or community members and hold open public dialogue on issues of importance to them.
