Essex Memorial Day Preview 04/28/2011  Ed Von Sitas, member of the Essex Memorial Day Parade Committee, speaks with the Grand Marshals of the 2011 Essex Memorial Day Parade. Bob Marcotte, Veteran of WW II, Leo Nadeau, Veteran of Vietnam and Dominican Republic, Frederick Dirmaier, Veteran of WW II, and Ralph 'Lefty' Guillette, Veteran Korea/Vietnam. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, May 27th, 8pm in the Essex Congregational Church.  Parade starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 28th through the 5 corners.

Heather Rogers -- How our Economy is Undermining the Environmental Revolution - Will Miller Social Action Series Lecture 04/21/2011  Heather Rogers is a journalist and author. She has written for the New York Times Magazine, Mother Jones,and The Nation. Her first book, Gone Tomorrow: The Hidden Life of Garbage, traces the history and politics of household rubbish in the United States.

Developmental Disabilities - Opening Doors to Inclusion - Lost in Laconia Documentary & Opening Doors to Inclusion Panel. Part 1 04/26/2011 HowardCenter Diversity Committee and HowardCenter Developmental Services host a powerful evening of film and panel presentation celebrating the closing of the state institutions that housed people with Developmental Disabilities in Vermont and New Hampshire until the 1990s. The amazing difference that inclusion in the community made for people with Developmental Disability is highlighted in the presentation.
