Governor Phil Scott Declares June 7th & 8th the 2nd Annual Vermont Day of Giving

Burlington, VT – In acknowledgement of the important role Vermont’s nonprofit sector plays in the state’s economy, Governor Phil Scott recently declared June 7 and June 8, 2017, the 2nd Annual “Vermont Gives Day of Giving.” Vermont Gives is a 24-hour fundraising event, created by Vermonters for Vermonters, to support local charities and causes, highlight the impact of nonprofits, and strengthen our local communities.

“Vermont Gives was established as a day to unite all of the people of Vermont in the celebration and reaffirmation of the spirit of philanthropy, raising both funds and awareness; and the day highlights how people can work together to share commitments, build stronger communities, and improve the quality of life for all residents”

Last year’s Day of Giving raised more than $83,000 for over 209 nonprofit organizations statewide representing a variety of communities and causes. Eligible nonprofits may register for this year’s Vermont Gives at www.vermontgives.org by June 2nd. “Together in celebration of nonprofits and philanthropy, communities will join together for 24 hours to raise as much money as they can to support the nonprofits that enrich our state while reaffirming the belief that anyone can help another person.”
