2011 CCTV Annual Holiday Party and Awards Recipients

December 21, 2011

Many free speech advocates and friends came out to celebrate the end of another year at CCTV’s annual Holiday Party on December 15. From Burlington NPA reps to former VT Governors, all gathered in the spirit of honoring the work of CCTV, Channel 17/Town Meeting TV and CommonGood VT in providing a space for community members to participate in their communities’ democratic process and work for social change. Among the notable achievements of CCTV this year was the beginning of Live webstreaming of the 20 year running Live@5:25 show. This program, connecting politicians and community activists with constituents and viewers in direct face-to-face discussion is a hallmark of Channel 17/Town Meeting Television’s mission to “open the doors of local government.” Another high point for celebration was the VT NPO legislative day convened in Montpelier by CommonGood VT, bringing together activists from a variety of backgrounds to learn the inside out of VT statehouse politics. As part of the annual party, the following people were recognized during a live on-air television broadcast for the work they do with CCTV:  (Photos of the holiday party can be seen on CCTV's facebook page)
