Vermont Gives – an initiative of Common Good Vermont – is a 24-hour Day of Giving designed to bring the state together as one community, raising as much money and awareness as possible for Vermont’s nonprofits.

VermontGives.org provides Vermonters all across the state with one, easy-to-use platform where they can find causes, make donations, and get involved.

UVM Medical Center Nurses March & Rally 05/12/2018

The 1,800 nurses at UVM Medical Center are currently engaged in negotiations to improve staffing, pay, and working conditions.

On Saturday, May 12th, the nurses' union held a march and rally in Burlington for safe staffing and a fair contract.

The march and rally were recorded by community producer Margaret Harrington.

Vermont Peace Conference 2018: Keynote Speaker - Beata Tsosie-Peña 05/12/2018

Beata Tsosie-Peña is the keynote speaker for the day. She is from Santa Clara Pueblo and El Rito, NM. She is a mother, poet, seed saver, and is certified in infant massage, as an educator, and in permaculture design. She is also a Green For All Fellow and has served on several local community boards. The realities of living next to a nuclear weapons complex has called her into environmental health and justice work with the local non-profit organization Tewa Women United for the last ten years. As part of her work with TWU she is currently managing the creation of the Española Healing Foods Oasis demonstration garden.

Living a Successful Life with Cystic Fibrosis: Gunnar Esiason 05/04/2018

Vermont Cystic Fibrosis Center Advisory Board's 10th Annual Patient & Family Education Night with guest Gunnar Esiason. Gunnar Esiason is 26 years old and has cystic fibrosis (CF). After being diagnosed at 2 years old, his parents founded the Boomer Esiason Foundation. Since then Gunnar has grown to live his life despite CF. He played three varsity sports in high school, graduated from Boston College in four years and now works as a cystic fibrosis patient advocate with the very foundation his parents started. He is also the head coach of his high school alma mater’s varsity ice hockey team, making him the youngest head coach on Long Island. Gunnar has learned that success with cystic fibrosis is possible, and he hopes to share it with you in this program!

CCTV Receives NEH Grant to Support Community Archives

CCTV Center for Media & Democracy is pleased to announce receipt of a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Humanities Collections and Reference Resources grant alongside 32 peer archival institutions across the country.
