Burlington Wards 4 & 7 NPA Meeting 12/18/2013

Neighborhood Planning Assemblies (NPAs) are grassroots, neighborhood organizations that were established in each of Burlington's seven Wards to empower citizen participation in City government. Working as neighborhood advocacy groups, Neighborhood Planning Assemblies facilitate communication between the citizens of Burlington and city government through regular meetings scheduled in each Ward. Wards 4 & 7 meet the third Tuesday of the month. Meeting place: Robert E. Miller Community Center 130 Gosse Court.

Essex Planning Commission 12/12/2013

The Planning Commission meetings are all held at the Town Offices at 81 Main Street in Essex Junction, in the downstairs conference room on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. Ward 1 meets the second Wednesday of the month.

Colchester Development Review Board 12/11/2013

The Colchester Development Review Board is charged with processing site plan, subdivision, and conditional use applications and variance requests and appeals of the Zoning Administrator's determinations. Board meetings are at 7:00 PM on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at the Colchester Meeting House in the Village. Williston Development Review Board 12/10/2013

Development Review Board (DRB) - The Williston DRB consists of a seven member Board appointed by the Selectboard for staggered three year terms. This Board is responsible for reviewing and approving all proposed development projects. This includes conditional use, variance, site plan, and subdivision approvals. The Board also reviews Certificates of Appropriateness as recommended by the Historical Preservation Committee. Agenda can be found here:

Airport Mitigation 101 Addressing Noise, Families, Neighborhoods 12/09/2013

Calls for a stopping use of F-16 afterburners, putting families back into vacant homes surrounding the airport, and no more home demolitions in the neighborhoods surrounding the airport, are made by Community Activist James Lease and Airport Neighborhood resident, Ray Gonda, prior to a press conference announcing a collaborative planning process by the Cities of Burlington, South Burlington, aimed at addressing issues related to noise abatement and the future use of purchased properties in the greater BTV/Chamberlin School neighborhood.

Collaborative Planning for Airport Noise Abatement 12/09/2013

The Cities of South Burlington and Burlington announce next steps fpr a collaborative planning process with the Chamberlin School neighborhood, Burlington International Airport and other interested parties made possible in part by the award of a Municipal Planning Grant. The collaborative planning process will address issues related to noise abatement and the future use of purchased properties in the greater BTV/Chamberlin School neighborhood.

CCTV Center for Media & Democracy is pleased to announce receipt of a National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) Humanities Collections and Reference Resources grant alongside 32 peer archival institutions across the country.
