Description
A vigil outside Burlington City Hall in support of a resolution declaring the city of Burlington open and welcoming to Syrian refugees. The resolution recognizes the possibility that Syrians may come to Burlington through our refugee resettlement program and the actions of the US state department, and declares our openness and support as a community, in the face of the humanitarian crisis in Syria.
The city council resolution was proposed by Amnesty International USA in Vermont and is co-sponsored by Selene Colburn (East District) and Joan Shannon (South District).
