Description

Cuba is on the front burner. As Cuban protesters against the Cuban government crowd the streets of Havana, Cuban American protesters crowd the streets in Miami calling for USA intervention in the island. Reminding the world of the Cold War hostility toward Cuba in Washington, the Mayor of Miami calls upon President Biden to act for regime change in Havana or to bomb the Cuban capitol. In this discussion led by Sandy Baird, founder of the Cuban American Friendship Society, we explore why the embargo and blockade of Cuba in place since 1961 has lasted so long, what President Biden's policies will be toward Cuba and how we can support the Cuban people in these times of pandemic, deprivation, and economic disaster.
