Description

The Essex Junction Trustees is the governing, legislative body for the Municipality of the Village of Essex Junction. The five member board is elected at large within the Village. The board includes the position of Village President. The position of president and vice president are decided (appointed) through a vote of the board itself.  This was a function of a charter update at the 2010 annual meeting.

The Essex Junction School District is governed by the Essex Junction School Board, also known as the Essex Junction Prudential Committee. Members of the Prudential Committee are elected at large from the citizens within the school district.

The Town of Essex has a five member selectboard who are elected by the voters and, appoint all other members of the Town's boards/committees. The Selectboard meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of every month beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the conference room at 81 Main Street.
