The funeral service of Christian Kibabu Poso, who drowned in the waters of Lake Champlain off the shore by Oakledge Park, was recorded, at the request of his family, by community producer Steve Norman.

Obituary:

Born on August 11, 1999, from the union of Mrs. Annie Masimo Monzio and Mr. Didier Kibabu in Kyangwali Refugee Camp in Uganda, Christian Kibabu Poso was an accomplished young man. He came to the U.S. in 2004. He graduated in 2014 from Hunt Middle School in Burlington, Vermont.

Christian was to have graduated from Burlington High School in 2018. He was a well-respected young man, helpful and very kind to others. He had a strong passion for the arts, poetry, music, and sports. He was poised to make a positive impact on his generation. Christian left us on Monday, July 10, 2017, in Burlington, Vermont. He was 17 years old. May his soul rest in peace.
