Description
The group states on their Facebook page:
"We are outraged by the atrocities ICE and DHS are wreaking on immigrants and asylum-seekers on the southern border of the USA. These concentration camps hold men, women, and children ransom for bond money, traumatizing them physically and psychologically."
"The American immigration system must be completely reformed. We demand that for-profit detention centers be banned, families be released and reunited, and immigrants welcomed."
The group gathered at the intersection of Church and Pearl in front of the Unitarian Universalist church for the initial speakers. Then they marched down South Winooski, past the Farmer's Market, up Church Street, and followed Pearl Street to Battery Park.
