Media Maven: 7th Annual Media Maven Luncheon: A Picture is Worth 1000 Words: Data Visualization for Nonprofits 09/21/2012

At the 7th Annual NPO Luncheon, CCTV and Common Good Vermont presented a lively panel to outline what it takes for your organization to become a data driven culture and use data visualization (Maps and Infographics) to tell your organization's story. Panelists include: Lauren-Glenn Davitian (on the data driven nonprofit), cartographer Bill Morris (on Burlington Neighborhoods Mapping Project), Leslie Pelch (Vermont Center for Geographic Information) and Peter Kriff (of SILK on Best Practices in Infographics). Andrea Learned, co-author of Don’t Think Pink: What Really Makes Women Buy – and How to Increase Your Share of This Crucial Market (AMACOM, 2004), will give some marketing tips. Andrea is an internationally respected gender marketing expert, speaker and writer. While she focuses on women as the leading indicators of consumer behavior, she also emphasizes that 21st Century men are starting to travel similar buying paths. Andrea believes that storytelling and cause marketing are key ways to present a brand’s facts and attributes to today’s consumer – no gender about it. Summer Video Production Internship - Applications Open

Town Meeting TV is hiring two paid interns to join our production team for the summer! The program will run from Monday, June 24th until Friday, August 16th (8 weeks). $17 an hour, approximately 8 hours per week. We are looking for folks who have basic or intermediate experience with video recording and editing on Adobe Premiere. Interns will work with the Town Meeting TV Co-Directors to pick stories or events that they would like to cover in our community, practice outreach skills, then shoot and edit video that will be broadcasted on Town Meeting TV's YouTube and cable channels. Interested applicants should send their resume and cover letter (including why they are interested in this position and any relevant experience) to Jordan at jmitchell@cctv.org.
