Earlier this year the Legislature passed Act 188 in response to long-standing issues with substandard conditions in Vermont’s rental housing, and the lack of a comprehensive system to enforce State health and safety standards. Join host Erhard Mahnke, Coordinator for the Vermont Affordable Housing Coalition, as he interviews Shaun Gilpin, Housing Policy Specialist with the Vermont Department of Housing & Community Development. Shaun staffs the Rental Housing Advisory Board, which the Legislature created in Act 188 and charged with making recommendations to improve rental housing code enforcement in our state.
