Welcome to the first monthly media round-up from the People's Media Project!  Below find links to the media production projects of the PMP, media coverage, press statements/releases, and blog posts.

About the People's Media Project: The People's Media Project is a project of the Vermont Workers' Center.  The People's Media Project works to tell the stories of people struggling to meet their fundamental needs, as well as amplify the human rights grassroots organizing happening in Vermont and across the country.

The Stories Project: The Stories Project features the stories of people in Vermont struggling to meet their needs, such as healthcare, housing, work with dignity, and healthy food.  The People's Media Project has been collecting stories around oral health, to lift up this crucial area of our healthcare system.  Watch Penny's story and Mike's story, and stay tuned for a longer video on the oral health crisis to be released in February.

Put People First Radio: Put People First Radio is our radio podcast, reporting on the organizing of the Put People First Campaign. This month we released two podcasts: Day 1 Rally Report  and People's Budget Address

Other Radio: We appeared on Equal Time Radio on WDEV three times: Brittany Nevins of the VWC and Ben Johnson of UP-AFT appeared to talk about the Put People First Agenda and Day 1 Legislative Kickoff, Keith Brunner and Leslie Matthews talked about moving toward a healthy environment and livable planet this session, and Mary Gerisch appeared to discuss our People’s Budget Address. VWC President Mary Gerisch also appeared on WAMC Public Radio with Pat Bradley to talk about our People’s Budget approach.

TV/Video: Our friends at CCTV/Channel 17 put out a video of our huge rally at the VT Statehouse on the first day of the 2013 legislative session.  On our monthly cable access show, Live @ 5:25, VWC leaders spoke about our People's Budget Address.  Our Legislative Kickoff generated a bunch of media. One of the best stories was on WCAX Channel 3

Photos: Lots of great photos from the PMP photo team at the VT Statehouse

Newspaper Coverage: Our Legislative Kickoff got us coverage in the Brattleboro Reformer and Burlington Free Press. The Bennington Banner also ran “Be united in our humanity,” an op-ed by our president Mary Gerisch

Press Releases and Statements: People’s Budget Address, Press release for People’s Budget and Response to Healthcare Financing Report by Administration

Blog: The PMP posted a blog on the first day of the legislative session, "This is the People's House" with photos and highlights from the day.  Our People's Team has started posting weekly updates on their blog from the Statehouse with profiles of People's Team members and legislation updates.  Finally, Dave Przepioski, Chittenden County Organizing Committee Leader, wrote two blog posts in January: Burlington Put People First Survey – Reflections by a Leader and Reflections on the Put People First Legislative Kickoff
