Fair Housing Project (FHP): Advocacy/Public Advocacy, referrals, education and outreach, enforcement, and information regarding Housing Discrimination issues.

Mobile Home Project (MHP): Advocacy/Public Advocacy, tenant organizing, referrals, counseling, and information for Manufactured Home Owners who are renting lots - especially those in Mobile Home Parks.

Vermont Tenants (VTI): Advocacy/Public Advocacy, organizing, advice, tenant counseling, training, and information regarding Residential Tenancy.

Burlington Ward 4 and Ward 7 NPA Meeting 11/16/2016

Neighborhood Planning Assemblies (NPAs) are grassroots, neighborhood organizations that were established in each of Burlington's seven Wards to empower citizen participation in City government. Working as neighborhood advocacy groups, Neighborhood Planning Assemblies facilitate communication between the citizens of Burlington and city government through regular meetings scheduled in each Ward. Wards 4 & 7 meet the fourth Wednesday of the month.

Veteran’s Day Film Screening: "Healing a Soldier’s Heart" 11/13/2016

Soldier’s Heart, founded in 2006, tends the invisible wounds resulting from war and military service. These wounds are now commonly called “PTSD”; during the Civil War, they were known as “Soldier’s Heart.”

Soldier’s Heart believes that these “soul wounds” are sacred and, properly tended, can lead to wisdom and transformation. We offer genuine homecoming and a path for post-traumatic growth to troops, veterans, families, and communities. Our mission focuses on veterans and their families but transcends their wounding to include the entire society.

Film screening is followed by discussion during which Ed Tick will eulogize Ed Bloch. Ed Bloch was a WWII veteran who's daughter, Linda Ayer, serves on the PJC board.

Love Trumps Hate Rally 11/11/2016

From the organizer's statement: "For all those devastated by the Presidential Election results, this is a time to come together. We will not stand down and accept a hateful leader. We will make our voices, our outrage, and our support for all people heard. This is an event to show that depsite this election, there is still love and respect. This event will be peaceful and a way for all groups in the community to come out and stand together." About 300 people gathered at a speakout on city hall's steps to protest after the 2016 presidential election.

Summer Video Production Internship - Applications Open

Town Meeting TV is hiring two paid interns to join our production team for the summer! The program will run from Monday, June 24th until Friday, August 16th (8 weeks). $17 an hour, approximately 8 hours per week. We are looking for folks who have basic or intermediate experience with video recording and editing on Adobe Premiere. Interns will work with the Town Meeting TV Co-Directors to pick stories or events that they would like to cover in our community, practice outreach skills, then shoot and edit video that will be broadcasted on Town Meeting TV's YouTube and cable channels.
