The South Burlington City Council is made up of 5 citizens who live in the City of South Burlington, elected at-large by the voters of the City. These five councilors sit with 2-3 year terms expiring in an annual rotation. The City Council meets regularly on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of each month to conduct business of the City and carry out the provisions of the City Charter. Special or emergency meetings can be called in the event that an urgent need arises for City Council authorization. City Council meetings are held at City Hall in the conference room and begin at 7pm.

Senator Patrick Leahy,  Vermont Secretary of Commerce and Community Development Lawrence Miller, Jay Peak Resort President Bill Stenger, and Sugarbush President Win Smith, announce the Senator's effort to permanently authorize the popular EB-5 Immigrant Investor Regional Center program.  Leahy has led efforts in the U.S. Senate to extend the pilot program since its creation in 1993.  Jay Peak and Sugarbush are both part of Vermont’s successful EB-5 Pilot Project, which is administered by the state.  The Regional Center program has generated more than a billion dollars in capital investment in American communities and created thousands of domestic jobs – hundreds, in Vermont -- since 1993.  The Centers attract foreign investors seeking legal permanent residency and a chance to invest in the American economy.

Judge Ben Joseph hosts Judge Amy Davenport, Chief Administrative Judge, Vermont Trial Courts, on her job and the role of judges in Treatment Courts.

The Senate Finance Committee hears testimony on S.78, an act relating to the advancement of cellular, broadband, smart grid, and other technology infrastructure in Vermont. Allen Gilbert, Executive Director of ACLU-Vermont testifies about the protection of private information in the connected age; Matt Levin, of Vermonters for a clean Environment, testifies on the environmental impacts of the construction and implementation of Cellular and similar towers.
