This public information meeting on the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) provides the public with information and an opportunity for informal discussion with the project team in an open house format. The meeting starts with a brief presentation on the FEIS.

From Washington to Moscow - Reflections, Renewal, Revival of Anti-Nuclear Movement 08/06/2010

Almost 30 years ago, at the height of the Cold War between the US and the Soviet Union, hundreds of Vermonters took part in a Peace Walk between Washington and Moscow, Vermont. A screening of the film, produced by George Cullinen, will be followed by discussion with participants gathering to remember, reflect, renew, and revive the movement against nuclear weapons.

Burlington Ward 6 NPA Meeting 08/05/2010

Neighborhood Planning Assemblies (NPAs) are grassroots, neighborhood organizations that were established in each of Burlington's seven Wards to encourage citizen participation in City government. Working as neighborhood advocacy groups, Neighborhood Planning Assemblies help improve communication between the citizens of Burlington and City government through regular meetings scheduled in each Ward. Ward 6 meets the first Thursday of the month. Meeting place: Greek Orthodox Church 600 South Willard Street.

Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Burlington School District Superintendent Jeanne Collins; Jim Down and Bobby Riley, co-principals of the summer school, report on Burlington’s new summer program which received federal funding secured by Sanders, a member of the Senate education committee. The Summer Opportunities Academics and enRichment (S.O.A.R.) program is attended by roughly 300 children from across Burlington five days a week, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., for five weeks a year.

WWYW is a multimedia program focusing on issues of accountability, that is produced by the Government Accountability Project, the nation’s leading whistleblower protection and advocacy organization. Episode 26, The BP oil rig disaster is quickly becoming one of the worst environmental catastrophes of our time. The parties involved are pointing fingers...but did someone have foresight into this type of event happening? A whistleblower from a different BP oil rig has been trying to expose critical safety lapses for years, but his efforts seem to have fallen on deaf ears. The second segment, we go to the first day of the National Whistleblower Assembly on May 24, 2010, where legendary NYPD whistleblower Frank Serpico, whose story is memorialized by the classic film that shares his name, gave the opening remarks.
